There are no prerequisites needed to attend this course. Students must be able to verbally communicate with instructor in primary language of the training.

Intended Audience
This training program is intended to provide entry-level safety and health-hazard information tailored specifically to Longshoring employees. This entry level course focuses on hazard identification, avoidance, control, and prevention; not OSHA standards.

This training is conducted on two separate days per OSHA training guidelines.

Completion Requirements:

Students are required to complete 100% of the course and actively participate in all learning activities.

After successfully completing this training, students will  be mailed a Department of Labor (DOL) course completion card (allow 3-4 weeks for card delivery).


Course Department of Labor (DOL) cards expire in five years from date of issue. To retain a valid 10 Hour card, students are required to retake the OSHA 10 Hour Maritime 7617 - Marine Terminals course within the five year period.
